Camera types
device.type classifies a camera. It is required in camera info.
Types
type | Meaning |
|---|---|
Buddy3D | Prusa Buddy3D camera |
ESP32 | ESP32-based camera, for example ESP32-CAM with Prusa firmware |
WEB | Browser webcam (phone, tablet, laptop) |
LINK | Internal camera connected directly to the printer by cable, registered by the printer |
INTERNAL | Built-in printer camera |
Any other value, including OTHER and UNKNOWN, is rejected with 422.
How the type is stored
The device.type you send always replaces the stored type.
In a response, device.type is null when the camera has never been classified. This happens for cameras that registered through the Prusa Connect paths without a type. Send PUT /v1/camera-info with device.type to fix it.
